First Aid Training

A survey by the British Red Cross in 2018 suggested only 50% of UK adults would feel confident to provide first aid to someone who was hurt.

As an employer there is a legal requirement to ensure there is adequate first aid assistance available in your workplace.

We help ensure our clients comply with the law but just as importantly together we provide a real skill for life.

Our most popular courses are shown below, but we also work with clients to understand their specific needs and provide, where required, bespoke solutions.

First Aid at Work

1 Day - Emergency First Aid at Work

Our 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work course provides your employees with the training they need to act as your Named First Aider in small, fairly low risk workplaces or to provide support to the Named First Aider in larger workplaces.

1 Day - Emergency First Aid at Work (F Plus)

Contains the same basic syllabus as the 1 Day course but includes a greater level of information around dealing with trauma and blood loss. This course is suitable for those employed in higher risk environments or who may be working in more remote locations. If you’re unsure of your requirement, just get in touch and we can help you.

2 Day - Emergency First Aid at Work Re-certification

Ideally completed within 3 years of the initial qualification, this re certification will remind and update on those skills initially learned on the 3 day course allowing the successful candidate to continue to operate as a Named First Aider.

3 Day - First Aid at Work

This course covers a wide range of techniques, injuries and illnesses to teach you everything you would need to know to act in an emergency situation. It is suited to anyone who will be taking on the role of 'Named First Aider' in a larger working environment or where there is a higher level of risk, or somewhere that they would be responsible for members of the public as well as other employees.

1/2 Day - CPR & AED

Each year in Britain around 30,000 people are struck by sudden cardiac arrest outside of hospital environments. If victims aren’t treated properly, more often than not, cardiac arrests are fatal.

Given properly and immediately to cardiac arrest victims, CPR can save lives. Every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces a victim’s survival rate by 7 to 10 per cent and without immediate treatment, 90-95 per cent of cardiac arrests prove fatal.

If an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is used by a qualified person within 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest, survival rates jump from 6 per cent to 74 per cent. This is why AEDs are becoming increasingly common in public and work places.

This course doesn’t only teach how to perform proper CPR and how to use an AED but it also includes vital training in techniques to deal with resuscitation and choking.

Managing Anaphylaxis

This course is designed specifically for those who need to be able to recognise and treat someone with anaphylaxis and who is already a qualified First Aider.
By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Identify the common triggers of anaphylaxis

  • Recognise the symptoms of anaphylaxis

  • Assess a casualty’s level of consciousness

  • Place an unresponsive casualty in the recovery position

  • Recognise when CPR is needed and perform it

  • Understand the features of an EpiPen and be able to use one

Our skilled trainers will assess your learning throughout the course, ensuring that any problem areas are addressed, and that you go into the final assessments with all the knowledge and skills that you need
